Thanksgiving has come and gone, and while some were busy cooking up the perfect turkey roast for their family, others were busy cooking up the perfect dank meme for the social media stratosphere.

Without further ado, here are my picks for the top five memes of November:

don’t do it

don’t do it

don’t do it

This meme speaks to our impulsive side that blurts out things we can’t keep within us. In a way, it’s almost soothing to know that you’re not the only person who says something distinctively awkward or who has the impulse to say, “Y-y-you too,” when your waiter tells you they hope you have a great meal.

What better way to cope with our awkwardness than to do it together.

The Grinch

When we were little, the Grinch may have seemed like the bad guy. We may have even asked ourselves why he acted the way he did. But now, as adults, some of us may find ourselves understanding the Grinch and maybe even relating to him. No matter the case, any meme-lover can find the green grump quite entertaining, and just in time for the holidays.

Surprised Pikachu

Pokémon is making yet another resurgence in social media, as the surprised Pikachu comes to tell us that we should’ve known better. Surprised Pikachu is the reaction picture of the month, and for many of us — or maybe just for me — it’s a nice reminder of an old friend.

Miley Cyrus

Poor Miley. The singer really doesn’t deserve more media mockery, but in the meme world, no one is safe — not even 2008 Miley Cyrus. The Miley Cyrus meme makes a great addition to the vast album of reaction pictures and is another thing that she will be remembered for amongst her many accomplishments.

Tekit eezee

As a Latina, the Tekit eezee meme is hilarious and relatable. Growing up, I heard many phrases in Spanish accents, with “take it easy” being among the more common. The meme makes me hear it as if I was actually there. It’s all in good fun, and the meme exploded among the Hispanic community on Twitter.
