The first few weeks of the semester have come and gone, and by now people have probably settled back into their daily routines. While routines are good and helpful, they tend to make life less exciting. I do the same things almost every day, and entire weeks can pass by without any variation. If, like me, you’re looking to take a break from the daily grind, here are a few exciting events to check out this week on campus:
- Salsa lesson on Monday
BU Salsa hosts free beginner salsa classes every Monday from 7–8 p.m. at the Sargent Activities Center gym, located at 1 University Road. This is a great way to spice up your schedule and turn that Monday into a fun-day. No RSVP is needed; just head on over, and bring your dancing shoes. You can find more information here:
- Casino Night on Thursday
The CAS Student Government will be hosting a casino game night from 8–10 p.m., featuring mocktails and prizes (including Beats headphones and a Fitbit). The event will be located at Metcalf Hall in the George Sherman Union at 775 Commonwealth Ave., and you can RSVP via Eventbrite here: (https://www.eventbrite.com/e/cas-student-government-casino-night-at-the-metcalf-spring-2018-tickets-42498041787?aff=efbeventtix)
Come if you’re a fan of games, prizes, or just looking to do something new.
- BU Symphony Orchestra Lunchtime Concert on Friday
Maybe you’ve been meaning to take advantage of that student discount for the Boston Symphony Orchestra, but just haven’t had the time. Maybe the past week was super stressful and you need to take some time to decompress. Whatever the reason, come and check out the lunchtime concert on Friday from 12:30–1:30 p.m. at the Tsai Performance Center at 685 Commonwealth Ave. Note: although it is a lunch concert, food and drinks are not allowed inside. You can find more information here: (https://www.bu.edu/cfa/news-events/events/?eid=209059).
